About the Event
We start at Castello on the foot of the mountain which was one of the main Medici Villas and is now home to the Academia della Crusca. As we walk higher, splendour gives way to a simplier and more functional beauty of the old farms and a look at at the romanesque church of San Bartolomeo.
Distance : 12 km
Total climb :climb up to 600m( 1, 968 feet)
Terrain: Gravel roads, wood paths and paved roads
Level: Moderate for terrain and pace
What to bring: backpack/snacks/ water bottle/ hat/sunglasses/ walking sticks/Hiking boots/binoculars
Meeting point and finishing point: You can park along Via Reginaldo Giuliani and meet at the entrance of Parco Mario Luzi (gardens in front of Villa di Castello).
